We were picked up at the Plaza Downtown, in a Henderson Cab, driver, was Mr. Navarro, on or about noon 7/22/08. We took the taxi to the Paris Casino. After leaving the taxi we realized Will had left his Stetson cowboy hat ( value approx $500). We immediatly returned to see if the taxi was still in line to re-board new riders, it was not. We tried to talk to othr cab drivers for Henderson Taxi to contact Mr. Navarro, this was all within about 5 minutes of us exiting the cab. The drivers of the other Henderson Taxis ROLLED UP THE WINDOWS and would not even talk to us about contacting Mr Navarro in his Taxi, with our Hat in it. We called the phone number on the taxi and got a recording, we called again got a recording, this time leaving our name, location, cab drivers name, where he picked us up and dropped us off, our Hotel name and room number. We heard nothing, we called again after returning to our hotel this time we  finally spoke with a dispatcher who was less than helpful, she said the taxi driver probably never saw the hat and the next fair took it. No, she could not check lost and found, it was locked until 8pm. No, she could not contact the cab driver. No NO ONE COULD HELP US. We called again in the morning and talked to dispatch again. We were told Mr Navarro was off and could not be reached. We could not go to the office since no one would be there untill 8pm on Wednesday, we were going home Wednesday. If someone would have call Mr. Navarro when we first missed our hat we could have got it back, if it had been turned in we could have got it back. But NO ONE was will to do anything,....the drivers who I KNOW could talk to him rolled up their windows and drove away!!!!!
The hat is gone, yes it was our responsibility, but where was the customer service, the willingness to help. The dispatchers were just short of rude! What lost and found only opens at 8pm???
I am truly disappointed in our treatment by people who make their living from tourist.
Good luck with the bad Karma!!!!
We left our address and phone number with our hotel, the 4 Queens and my cell number with Henderson Taxi just in case someone develops and conscience.
