I agree wholeheartedly with Ell. But this describes not just 1681 services but even others. I have registered myself with a taxi company called Howa. When I have needed a taxi the most, and call 1-2 hours ahead, is precisely when they call back 10-15 minutes before the pick-up time to say there are no taxis available. If anyone knows of a reliable service I would be very happy to know. I've been in Bangkok for nearly 6 months and I still cannot find one person who could provide me transport every day to the office.

when i first started using 1681, i had reliable service. For the past few months, it seems now they can never get a taxi. It seems the only way i can get a taxi, is to threaten to use another service. I've even called and booked a taxi 2 hrs in advance, and it was the same thing... they wait 15 minutes before the time, only to say they have no taxi?! They also seem to act like it is too much trouble to keep trying to get a person a taxi. Getting old...

I agree... 1681 says there are "no taxi available" very often. There are hundreds of taxis available but the drivers wont take the job if the distance or destination doesn't suit them. Sad service.
