i have a tip. Bring all the info you have on where you are going, especially the phone # because you can have an address and a map and they stll might not know where it is. Some taxis are also new and don't speak that great of English. The BTS and skytrain is great for when you are in that area.

Bangkok taxis are no worse than those in any 3rd world (and some 1st world) cities - provided you take common sense precautions: Check the guy is licensed (license, cab no., photo ID on dashboard), that he starts the meter (flagfall is 37 baht in BKK), don't leave luggage or cellphone behind - and note down the cab's license plate number as an extra precaution.

Go for a walk from Suwarnabhumi airport and follow aborigens. You can catch the taxi by low cost an any different colours. The trip of one way between Suwarnabhumi and Pattaya is a THB1000. Tax of highway included.

any one knows which is the taxi company whose taxi is green? I think i have dropped my phone in the cab which im unloading my baggage. im still looking for my Samsung Omnia now. the car plate number of the taxi is 899 or 889. wonder if any one knows the green taxi company so that i can call to check?

I hopped into one of those blue taxis and got all my money stolen DON'T EVER GO INTO THE BLUE AND RED TAXIS THEY ARE A SECRET SERVICE WHO WILL STEAL ALL OF YOUR MONEY FOR THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THE EXTRA RIDE !

I was in Bangkok from the 17th to 21st. All was good. But on the 21/03/09, on the way to the airport I left my luggage in an orange coloured taxi. I didn't take down the number of the taxi and couldn't get my luggage back.
