Thanks finally for a reply to my complaint and the refund and letter.
 
You have been given some incorrect information which I feel needs correcting.
 
My father Les Wood was dropped off at Eastern Beach and left for some time before I through your office managed to locate the drive and he returned and collected him. So your statement, " at no time was your father left unattended" is incorrect. Your driver was in Bleak house Rd  Howick and it took your staff some time before he responded to his radio and was told he was to return and collect my father from Eastern Beach.

At approx 10.45 am on Thursday 27th May 2010 I booked a taxi with South Auckland Taxi to collect my father from 7 Flat Bush School Rd (retirement Village) at 11.15am and for him to be taken to 19a Shelly Beach Parade Cockle Bay. I gave instructions that the driver must know the drop off address as my father has dementure and will not know how to get to my address. I was told, " this will come up on the drivers screen."
When my father did not arrive after about 25 minutes I rung the taxi co. and was told he had been dropped off at Eastern Beach. I explained the situation and after some time the drive was contacted and he returned and picked up my father and he was finally dropped of to the correct address at 12.15 pm. The driver had charged him $43.00 TM charge $21.80. When I requested to the driver to be charged the correct fare he would not do this. He would not give a refund.
Easter Beach is a lot further than my address. The driver said he was sorry and had only been to this place ( Cockle Bay) twice before.
 
My father was very distressed and confused. He had been dropped off at Eastern Beach and could not find me.
Had I not rung and found out my father had not been taken to the correct address he could have wandered off and got lost. I contacted the office of South Auckland Taxi and they said they would post out a complaint form.
 
At least I would like a complete refund and an official apology for my father. Systems must be put in place to make sure that passengers are taken to the correct address and instructions on medical issues and other notes are adhered to.
