I WAS TRAVELLING FROM SANTACUZ AIR PORT TO KEMPS CORNER LAST NIGHT AT 130 AM IN AN OLD FIAT TAXI.I FORGOT TO TAKE MY MOBLE FROM THE TAXI.PLEASE RETURN MY BLACKBERRY MOBILE (STORM) WITH RED COVER TO TAXI UNION OFFICE AT MUMBAI CENTRAL. MY CONTACT NO. 9819118555.

I left my bag in a black n yellow taxi ( santro )this morning ( May 13, 2011 ) at around 7:45 am. I took the taxi from chembur and i was dropped at my office in wadala, near ram mandir. The santro was driven by a tall, elderly driver..and "Jai Bholenath" was written on the back windscreen. Various private taxi services are available in mumbai now. Every body prefer those neat and clean taxis with air conditioning, to commute in the city. And the fare , compared to the traditional mumbai taxi (Black and yellow) is less. Recently i had a drive to airport in a mega cab with air conditioning, and charges were Rs.260/-  My return journey was in Black and yellow taxi with out air conditioning, and charges were Rs. 300/- The vehicle was also in a very shabby condition.
I have a feeling that the traditional taxi service of mumbai, can give a better service to the public than private taxis as their coverage of mumbai with respect to area and numbers are more. They can have GPS and all modern gadgets in their vehicle and give prompt service with a little effort from their side and the government. Some management advice from suitable people will help them in this. They should be educated in good behaviour towards passengers and their metering device should be accurate. The service should be fair. Let some body initiate this so that one old simbol of mumbai will remain.
