| The bedrooms, varying in size and style, are well equipped. Spacious and very comfortable public areas include cosy lounges and an informal bar. Some of the original oak panelling and the black beams are still intact and service is attentive and friendly. The hotel is set in its own gardens and has a croquet lawn for you to enjoy yourselves on and work up an appetite before dinner. Situated on the famous Banbury Cross, Whately Hall dates from 1632 - a charming hotel which makes a great base for visits to Broughton Castle, Upton, the surrounding Cotswolds and Oxfordshire countryside whilst Banbury itself is a pleasant place to shop.
