I live in Bangkok. Discovered HOWA Taxi Company one day when I hailed a taxi on a busy street. The driver was wearing a clean uniform, the taxi was clean, too. The driver was courteous and polite, and then he handed me his business card with photo and mobile phone number! Ever since then, when I need a special trip I call HOWA. Since I don't own a car here, I also call them when I want to travel from Bangkok to another city -- instead of taking the inter-city bus. I take taxis almost every day in Bangkok. So far I haven't found any that surpass HOWA.
