I took a taxi from the CBD to the Airport and have a handwritten receipt for $46.10.  The amount showing on my statement is $51.17.  It is fortunate that I even have the receipt as initially the driver was not going to supply me with anything (credit card slip or hand written receipt).  On making enquiries with my Bank I was advised that disputing a transaction is a very lengthly process and I would be better to contact the company concerned direct.  On doing so, I found the service to be very unhelpful - with the response being "you need to contact your bank direct.  My boss says this is the process".  Unfortunately due to the nature of my receipt I am unable to tell specifically which company my fare was with.  My advise, be sure you get a receipt and check thoroughly.  I taking further action via my Bank

We took a taxi from Southbank to Moonee Valley racecourse with a driver who had no clue as to where he was going. He stopped & consulted the Melway twice (without turning off the meter) & finally arrived at our destination charging $32.30. The next day we took a cab back to the city centre from our accommodation & were charged $18.80. When I mentioned the previous days amount to this driver - he laughed knowingly. If my credit card statement comes in & shows a larger amount, I will be taking this up thru the credit card company. Where are the honest taxi drivers who know their areas? Please contact me to discuss.

I took a Taxi from Melbourne to the Tullamarine Airport. I have a reciept for 49.50 but I have just checked my VISA and the dodgy cab man charged $69.50 !!!!! I will be following this up with the Bank on Monday.

I took a taxi from Vic Airport to Lonsdale St in Melbourne. The fee was $55. I initially thought that was a bit high, but accepted it. I was a tourist and knew no better. I was later told that tolls would bump the expected fee of $45 (on the meter) to this amount.
However, I came back to NZ and read my bank statement to see that this figure of $AUS55 had increased to $AUS60.50.
My bank is currently dealing with this inconsistency. In the meantime, If there is a choice at the airport, I will NEVER use this cab company again while at work in Melbourne.

I took one of your taxis from South Bank to the Airport and recieved a recipt for $A 54.40 for my Credit Card payment. On recieving my statement the charge is for $A 60.39 and I need to explain this to my company why there is a difference. Can someone please contact me to discuss this before I raise it with my Credit Card company?
