Delivering customers safely to their destination is just a part of our service at Yellow Cab. Other than the traditional taxi transportation services, Yellow Cab offers the following services: PICKUP AND DELIVERY COURIER SERVICE If you need immediate pickup and delivery of an envelope, parcel or small package (under 20 pound or 10 kilograms), Yellow Cab can assist you. Our call taker will ask you for a telephone number and contact name at the point of pick up and at the point of delivery. This will assist our drivers in ensuring your delivery is made in minimal time. Although the rate is determined by the meter, there is a minimum rate of $10.00 for this service. AIRPORT SERVICE From the City of Vancouver, Yellow Cab offers reliable service to the Vancouver International Airport. However, if you intend to travel during the busy rush hour periods, please ensure you give yourself plenty of time before your flight departs. There are 61 Yellow Cab taxis licensed to pick up at the airport. Yellow Cab is one of 16 companies authorized to provide service from the airport - so if you prefer to use a Yellow Cab, please advise the airport taxihost and he or she will assist you with your request. JUMP STARTS * Yellow Cab provides a Jump Start Service when required by motorists who need roadside assistance. This service is $20.00. Due to the various problems that could be related to a low battery the $20.00 is charged whether the car starts or not. * Please Note: Yellow Cab is not responsible for any damages caused by improper connections to vehicles. Car owners should make sure that the connections according to their vehicle's requirement. Please look at your owners manual for details. PREDATED TAXI ORDERS If you prefer to call for your taxi in advance, our Dispatch Staff will take your call hours or days prior your taxi requirement. CALL-OUT FEATURE When calling for a Yellow Cab taxi, our Dispatch Staff can have the computer telephone you to advise you when the taxi has arrived or is getting close. To utilize this feature just let us know. Our call taker will take your telephone number and input your request. The next time you call for a taxi, only your phone number will be required, as the computer stores all the particulars of your address. This service is free of charge.

If calling from a municipality other than Vancouver, we can bring you into our city or to the airport provided we receive adequate lead-time to get a taxi to you when it is required. If you require a vehicle for 5 passengers, please advise our call taker as many of our vehicles are equipped to carry only 4 passengers. This will save you from having your trip re-dispatched causing additional waiting time. If there are stopping restrictions where you are calling from please be at curbside. This will ensure you will not miss your taxi. Our computerized dispatch system results in quick, efficient service. This system requires exact house or building number and proper street name, plus your buzzer number if living in a coded apartment building. If your taxi does not arrive within 20 minutes please give us another call and inform your call taker this is a callback. This allows us to track your taxi order and determine how soon your taxi will arrive. When phoning for taxi service from 2 pm to 5 pm, we ask that you provide the call taker with your location and destination. This helps us service you more effectively during this busy period. If you have ordered a taxi and have changed your mind, please give us a call to cancel your arrangements. Also, please ensure that you only call one company at a time. This assists us by providing other customers with prompt service, as our cabs are not required to go to pick up points where they will not be required. If trying to catch a Yellow Cab taxi from the downtown core, be sure you look not only for the familiar yellow painted car, but also ensure the name is Yellow Cab. There are times when other taxis of the same color from surrounding communities, (offering a lower standard of service) attempt to pick up fares in Vancouver illegally. Tourists coming into Vancouver by cruise ship or through the airport are advised to compare taxi rates with those of the Airporter or charter bus. If traveling with a companion, you may get a better rate as the regular fare for up to 4 passengers. The rate for the bus is charged on a per person basis.

I don't think they know any customer service in their operator. I called to get a taxi for one of our patient and the guy who took my call said that they will send one right away. I told the operator that the patient will be waiting outside, in front of the building so it'll be easier for both of them. So, patient waited outside. Five minutes later, I got a recorded confirmation msg on phone that the cab arrived but few seconds after that, our patient came back and said that no taxi came by. So I called back the operator and surely it was the same operator. Told him nicely that our patient was still waiting for a cab (I was being very nice!!!) but he was so RUDE and he RAISED his voice while I was talking to him. He assumed that the patient wasn't there or wasn't able to go outside on time to catch the cab even though I already told him that the patient was outside. Anyways, I don't think I will use their service in the future.

Don't even think about calling them if you have a cat, even if it is contained in a kennel. When called back after waiting 25 minutes I was rudely told that no drivers want to take cats and i would have to wait. 50 minutes later... still no cab. DO NOT CALL THEM!!! HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!! They complain about the recession and not having enough business - BULL! If you won't pick up business because of a CAT?! You can't be too hard off. Yellow cab should not be issued any more cab driver licenses - we need a more accepting company in this city. One that does not discriminate against pet owners.
