Company background2007 marks the 96th anniversary of MacLure’s Cabs, founded in 1911 by Donald C MacLure making Maclure’s Cabs the oldest cab company in the Lower Mainland. MacLure’s Cabs initially provided tours around Stanley Park and serviced Vancouver and surrounding areas and eventually the Vancouver International Airport. Awarded the Airport contract in 1968 until 1980 meant MacLure’s Cabs were exclusively allowed to pick up passengers from the Vancouver International Airport. Currently YVR requires all operators working from the Airport to undergo special training in order to provide service to passengers who are elderly or disabled. The majority of MacLure’s Cabs operators are shareholders, which means cleaner vehicles, attention to passenger needs, professional conduct coupled with unparallel customer service. The blue and white colors, represents MacLure’s Cabs and is a familiar site around Vancouver. Our Fleet’s currently populated with 45 vehicles, 5 of which are equipped to carry passengers with disabilities. All vehicles are equipped with state of the art computerized systems. The Digital Dispatch System coordinates passengers with vehicles most efficiently. Finally MacLure’s fleet is equipped with Global Positioning System, and close circuit camera for driver and passenger safety. Before acquiring driver status with MacLure's Cabs * All operators are required to pass a background check by VPD, once cleared the operator will be issued a Chauffeurs Permit. The city of Vancouver requires all drivers to hold this permit in order to provide service to the public. * Must acquire the Taxi-Host Level I and II program from the Justice Institute of B.C. These certificates are required to work with the elderly and the disabled, driver finesse and finally assault avoidance awareness. All operators undergo geographical test of Vancouver and outlying areas. * Valid B.C. Drivers License * Claim History and Drivers Abstract issued by ICBC |

Very poor driving skills with a rude driver to begin with. Maybe take some anger management courses and also driving lessons.
