Took ass cab yesterday for a $8 ride and the cabbie complained about the short ride. When going to pay debit it turns out their debit machines only accept pin #'s up to 8 digits and mine was 9. I asked the him to keep the meter running while my friend who was less then 5 min away came to pay. He then made me give him his liscence and instead of waiting decided to drive away. When my friend arrived to pay I called him and he refused to come back, he told us the ID would be at the main office. When we got to the office we found out that the ID was not even there. When speaking with manager Jeff he procedeed to swear at us and basically tell us the driver is contracted so nothing he could do. He used the "F" word multiple times in dealing with us. When I called the taxi commission to put in a complaint they did a great job handeling my call. It is illegal to retain someones liscence or ID and the cab driver does not care he says its company policy end of story. Will never use ass cabs again, drivers don't know the laws and management doesnt care.

Call "Ass" cabs on Jan 6 after waiting 1 hour cab never showed. The person that answer the phone at Associated was a complete BITCH when I asked how long she said a few minutes. Well 1 week later and the cab still never showed up. I live in a condo and gave them the dial up code. (I would see it on my call display) They hire these useless immigrants that can't speak english or read. Calgary doesn't have enough cabs but when you hire IDIOTS who wants to use them. 95% of the service in this town is a joke!

I believe the problem with this company is that the owner is greedy and hires incompetant people so he can have more drivers on the road therefore making wait times shorter.  It makes the people of calgary forced to use a bad service.  I have forgotten things in a taxi and had no help to get them back.  Many of other times I have had taxis drop me off at a wrong location, talk on their cell the whole time,  drive down the wrong side of the road, or simply be rude.  Associated does have a few good drivers but very few.  This company needs to start caring!  They only care about profits, not their customers!  You guys should be shut down if nothing changes.

look, a minority (i like to believe that) of drivers WILL get away with overcharging or putting extra people in the taxi because YOU LET THEM. i dont believe that is legal. read the opening comments to this page. extra charges may occur if at the airport. when you get in a taxi, memorize or write down the taxi number/drivers number. better yet, let him/her see you write it down if there is a problem. if a driver tryed that crap on me, i would be on the phone to his dispatch, if i couldnt get through,or was ignored perhaps the provincial ministry that regulates them. if you ignore them cheating you, you encourage them to rip off another person. personally, the times i have taken a cab here so far the first guy, mohammed, was excellent. the second guy, also foreign, whined when he heard me counting my money about having come up all the way from downtown. yeah, short fares may suck, but it is your job, and i was injured and couldnt walk. i am ticked at myself for tipping him well. i had already planned to give him extra to make up for the short fare so i had the money out and ready, but i shouldnt have as it was rewarding his bad behaviour and he will think whining gets him more money. i just didnt think fast enough. darn. thanks mohammed for great service. then, i took a $55 dollar taxi from NW to SE to pick up my vehicle that had ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED. the driver was either on his cell phone, ignoring me, or the only time he interacted with me was to try and 'sell' me on a 'friend' who would give me a good deal on auto repair. uh...its already fixed buddy. and why would i trust someone who cant give me the time of day except for trying to make more money off me than a decent fare plus tip. but i didnt let on and was polite. i should have commented on the cell phone, i know better now.

i took taxi #355 on Nov30. after i get in to the taxi, the driver call another passenger on the road come in the taxi with me without asking me. He said I'm ok, just be quiet. Then when i get out I told him to make new meter for the passenger cuz i gonna pay for them to my house but he so bad. he didn't do that. I didn't take the bus but he charge us double.

when ever i would have two people sharing (their choice, either they were together or decided to share) i would not turn the meter off for 2 reasons. my time is still being used, so the quicker you are out of car, the cheaper for next person. but i usually pause the time button while getting the luggage out for first drop off if coming from airport to be courteous. and secondly, because if i turn off the meter and on again it costs the second person more because of the flag cost at start up. so, if you get out of cab at $15 and second passenger gets out at $25, i dont charge him $25, i charge him $10. and on the books it is all one fare. also, by turning off the meter then on again, i have to explain to my dispatch why that happened, and that i am carrying on with second passenger. unneccessary radio chatter. or in the big cities perhaps there is a code for that if they are on computer. so you see, sometimes the driver is saving you money. when in doubt, ask in a calm voice and a good driver should have no trouble explaining.
