Agree with the above comment regarding the credit card. We thought we'd be able to pay by visa at the airport but the machine wouldn't take our card for some reason so we had to find a bank machine, withdrawer money and then go back to the taxi company. Whenever you book a transfer service before you arrive you'll pay a bit extra, but that's the price you pay for the extra convenience i suppose

Service too expensive!!! They are ripping you off.
Look for the taxi counter just before the lounge exit (after you get your luggage).
You can pay with credit card and get a ticket, avoiding being tricked by the drivers at the ariport.

I think you might be able to pay for a taxi with credit card, but when we tried to do this the machines wouldn't accept our card. There was a Brazilian guy who was trying to help us as the staff at the taxi booths didn't speak much English and he seemed to think that not all Brazilian credit card machines would accept international credit cards - not sure if this is true or if there was a problem with the machines on the day we arrived

Great service, and service with a smile.
Safely took us from the airport to our holiday apartment in Leblon.

We used the services of Rio Airport Transfer and found them to be very good. We were met by a girl when we left the immigration part of the airport, she then escorted us to one of their cars waiting outside. Pretty simple service, but it works well.
