How to become a taxi driver in Singapore

To drive a taxi in Singapore, you need to possess a valid Taxi Driver's Vocational Licence issued by LTA. All applicants must fulfil certain pre-requisites, undergo a training course by the Singapore Taxi Academy (STA) and pass a written test before they qualify to be taxi drivers.

Hours of operation:

Mon to Fri : 8.00 am to 4.30 pm

Sat : 8.00 am to 12.00 pm

 

Please submit all completed applications, along with the relevant supporting documents, to the VTL office for evaluation.

 

The fee for each application is S$40.

Dear baskar, I am sorry to tell you that only Singapore citizen are allow to drive taxi in Singapore.

I am unemployed and have been driving for 30 yrs. I have good educational qualifications and good health. I do not forsee any problems getting a taxi licence except that i have previously been disqualified from driving for 2 yrs due to drink driving offence. I have since obtained my licence an d have a clean record for the past 2 yrs. Could you let me know if my previous offence is an impediment to my application to LTA.

i wish to aplly for taxi driving licenses, currently holding class 3 driving license, problem no i with color blindness on green and red, as for the 3 colortrafic light on the road i do not have any problem to indentify, please advise if my condition able to qualify for the application?
