Medallion Owner, a licence requirement to obtain the operating permit for cab owners in Chicago.

Taxi Courses in order to obtain a taxi licence in Chicago:

Students are required to successfully complete an English Proficiency Exam in room 120 prior to registration for TAXI courses. The English Proficiency Exam is offered at the following times:

Monday-Friday: 9:30a.m., 10:30a.m., 11:30a.m., 12:30p.m., 1:30p.m.

Saturday: 9:30a.m., 11:30a.m

Students are required to register for taxi courses in Room 102 after successfully completing the English Exam during the following days and times:

Monday-Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

Taxi courses will be held in rooms 1048, 1050, 1051, 1053.

These courses begin every Monday when there is no holiday that week. Course duration is two (2) consecutive weeks: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m., or 3:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. Students are also required to register for two (2) bus tours:

Downtown Bus Tour (10a.m. to 2p.m.)

Intra-City Bus Tour (9a.m. to 1p.m.) This is a 12-day course.

Cost: $220.00.

Certificates issued upon successful completion of the course (following the 2nd Bus Tour).

Taxi Access Program (TAP): Offered every Tuesday from 8:30a.m. to 3:30p.m. in Room 1049. Classes will be added on demand. Students may register for TAP courses in room 102 during the following days and times: Monday-Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. This is a one-day workshop.

Cost: $35.00.

Letter issued upon successful completion of the workshop.

Communication at its Best (CAB):

Offered on Monday & Wednesday from 8:30a.m. to 3:30p.m. in Room 1052. Students are required to register for a Communication at its Best (CAB) course if they fail the English Proficiency Entrance Exam. They may register for this course in room 102 during the following days and times:

Monday-Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. This is a two-day course.

Cost: $50.00.

Letter issued upon successful completion of the course, which allows registration into taxi training.

Attitudinal Defensive Driving (ADD):

Offered on Monday & Wednesday from 5:00p.m. to 9:30p.m. in Room 1048.

Students may register for this course in room 102 during the following days and times: Monday-

Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. This is a two-day course.

Cost: $50.00.

Certificate issued upon successful completion of the course.

Limousine Course:

Offered alternating Tuesdays & Saturdays from 9a.m. to 4p.m. in Room 1052. Students may register for this course in room 102 during the following days and times: Monday-Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

This is a one-day workshop.

Cost: $40.00.

Certificate issued upon successful completion of the workshop.

Medallion Holders:

Offered the first Saturday of every month from 9a.m. to 4p.m. in Room 1053. Students may register for Medallion Holders in room 102 during the following days and times: Monday-

Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. This is a one-day workshop.

Cost: $40.00.

Certificate issued upon successful completion of the workshop.

Refusal of Service:

Offered the first Thursday & Friday of every month from 5:30p.m. to 9:30p.m. in Room 1050.

Students may register for Refusal of Service courses in room 102 during the following days and times:

Monday-Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. This is a two-day workshop.

Cost: $50.00.

Certificate issued upon successful completion of the workshop.

Discourtesy:

Offered the first Tuesday & Wednesday of every month from 5:30p.m. to 9:30p.m. in Room 1050. Students may register for Discourtesy courses in room 102 during the following days and times:

Monday-Thursday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

Friday: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

Continuing Education:
